This painting began with lots of time just laying on decalcomania texture with oil paint, with no image in mind, just letting the colors develop. Then the main female figures began to take form and I began to bring them out. I was pregnant at the time, and as my pregnancy developed, the baby in my belly appeared. The female figure behind, who is supporting and counseling, felt like a spiritual presence of the nurturing Mother Goddess.
